Collections and trips

What this is

A trip is a folder for a period of time. A long weekend in Porto. A fortnight in Japan. A summer of Saturdays close to home.

Inside it you keep the itineraries you have made, arranged across days. You can invite the people you are going with, so everyone is looking at the same plan.

Getting there

Tap the plus button, then Collections. That takes you straight to the list of your trips.

Your trips also appear on the Saved tab, alongside your itineraries.

Finding a trip

The list has a search box at the top. Type any part of the name and the list narrows as you type.

Making a trip

  1. Tap + New at the top right of the trips list.
  2. Give it a name.
  3. Set the start and end dates, if you know them. The end date has to be on or after the start date.
  4. Choose a cover: a photo of your own, or a colour.

What happens next. The trip is created and it opens, empty, ready for you to put things in.

Adding an itinerary to a trip

  1. Open a road trip or a set of Discoveries.
  2. Tap Add to Trip.
  3. Choose which trip, and which day.

What happens next. The itinerary appears in that trip, on that day.

Looking at a trip

Inside a trip there are two views, and a toggle to switch between them.

  • List - everything in the trip, day by day, in order.
  • Calendar - the same plan laid out across the dates of the trip. Only available once the trip has dates.

You can add a day at any time.

Inviting people

  1. Open the trip.
  2. Tap the members button in the top right.
  3. Choose a friend and give them a role.

The two roles are:

  • Editor - can change the plan.
  • Viewer - can see the plan.

What happens next. They get an invitation. Until they respond, they show as invited. If they decline, you can invite them again later.

You can only invite people who are already your friends on Itineru. See Friends and sharing.

Deleting things

On the Saved tab you can select several itineraries and trips at once and delete them together. Tap the select button in the top right, tick what you want gone, and tap the bin.
