These Terms of Service apply to all access and use of the Itineru mobile application, including the Walking Tour generator, Road Trip planner, Scratch Map, and audio narration services. By using the app you agree to the terms below.

1. Service Overview

Itineru provides AI-powered travel planning tools including walking tours, road trips, and audio guides. Features may be updated, modified, or rate-limited as we improve the service.

By using the app you agree to receive important service notifications, security updates, and optional product announcements (which you can disable in Settings).

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your region) to use Itineru. You are responsible for the accuracy of information in your profile and for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.

We may suspend or terminate accounts if we detect suspicious activity, misuse of AI features, or violations of applicable law.

3. Generated Routes & Audio Tours

AI-generated content such as walking tours, road trips, or audio narration is provided for planning inspiration only. Always verify opening times, accessibility, local advisories, and safety requirements before visiting a destination.

Driving instructions, walking directions, or estimated durations are approximations based on third-party mapping data. You are solely responsible for obeying traffic laws and local regulations.

AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies. We continuously monitor and improve content quality, but cannot guarantee complete accuracy of all generated itineraries or narration.

4. Subscriptions, Credits & Billing

Itineru offers a free tier (Explorer) and a paid subscription (Itineru+). Free plans provide access to manual tour creation. Itineru+ unlocks AI-powered walking tours, road trips, audio narration, and premium map features.

Auto-Renewal: Itineru+ subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID or Google Play account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.

Managing & Cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings (iPhone: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.

Restore Purchases: If you reinstall the app or switch devices, use "Restore Purchases" in Settings → Subscription to recover your active subscription.

Price Changes: We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

Credits have no cash value, may be adjusted, and reset according to the billing cycle displayed in Settings → Subscription.

5. Location, Privacy & Data

Itineru only uses your location when you explicitly enable it for route planning or when you share Scratch Map progress with friends. You can manage profile visibility, shared countries, and activity logs within Settings → Social & Privacy.

Aggregated analytics, crash reports, and anonymized usage metrics help us improve route quality and audio performance. We never sell your personal data.

6. Third-Party Services

The app integrates mapping, AI, voice synthesis, image, and cloud services from third-party providers. Continued access to these services is subject to their respective terms, quotas, and availability.

You agree not to extract bulk data, resell generated itineraries, reverse engineer AI-generated content, or interfere with rate limits imposed by any integrated provider.

Service disruptions or changes to third-party APIs may temporarily affect feature availability. We are not liable for third-party service outages or changes to their terms.

7. Feedback & Communications

We welcome bug reports, feature requests, and UX feedback via the in-app Help Center. Submitting feedback grants Itineru an irrevocable right to use that input to improve the product without obligation to you.

We may contact you for research interviews or early access to new features. Participation is optional.

8. Updates & Termination

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or delivered via email before they become effective.

You may stop using the app at any point and request deletion of your account data via Settings → Data Management. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Itineru and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to: loss of data, loss of profits, personal injury, property damage, or reliance on AI-generated content.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Itineru in the 12 months preceding the claim, or AUD $100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New South Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.
