What this is

Two small tools for working out what something actually costs: a converter, and a plain list of today's rates.

Getting there

  • Tap the plus button, then Currency. This opens the calculator on its own.
  • Or open Expenses and use the Calculator and Rates tabs at the top.

Both are the same tools.

The calculator

Type an amount, choose the currency you are converting from and the currency you are converting to, and it shows you the answer.

Your recent conversions are kept just below, so if you keep checking the same thing you do not have to type it again.

The rates list

The Rates tab shows one line per currency: how much of it you get for one unit of your base currency.

At the top there is a small dot and a label telling you where the numbers came from.

  • Live rates - fetched just now.
  • Cached rates - the last rates Itineru fetched. Used when it cannot reach the network.
  • Fallback rates - a built-in set, used when there is nothing else. Treat these as a rough guide only.

Underneath, it tells you when the rates were last updated. Tap the refresh icon to fetch them again.

Your base currency

The rates are shown against a base currency, and that is the currency your trip budgets default to as well.

To change it, tap Change base currency on the Rates tab, or go to Profile, then Settings, then Regional.

If you have an expenses trip open, the rates are shown against that trip's currency instead, so the numbers match what you are actually spending.
